01 Accepting these terms
By creating a Gorebet account or using the Gorebet app or website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use Gorebet. These terms form a legal agreement between you and Gorebet Inc., the operator of Gorebet.
02 What Gorebet is
Gorebet is a neighborhood safety platform that allows users to submit incident reports, view aggregated safety conditions, and connect with neighborhood groups. Gorebet is not a law enforcement agency. We do not investigate incidents, make enforcement decisions, or guarantee response from any authority. All incident data is user-submitted and unverified.
03 Who can use Gorebet
You must be at least 16 years old to create a Gorebet account. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old. We do not knowingly provide services to individuals under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, contact [email protected].
04 Your reports and content
You retain ownership of the reports and other content you submit. By submitting content, you grant Gorebet Inc. a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display your content to operate the Gorebet service. You agree that your content complies with our Community Guidelines. We may remove content that violates those guidelines.
05 Prohibited uses
You must not use Gorebet to submit false or fabricated incident reports; harass, intimidate, or target specific individuals; share personal information about others without consent; engage in coordinated abuse or manipulation of the platform; or violate any applicable law. Violations may result in account suspension or termination.
06 Anonymous mode
Gorebet offers anonymous reporting. When you use anonymous mode, your identity is not stored with your report and is not accessible to partner agencies or Gorebet staff. Anonymous reports are subject to the same Community Guidelines and moderation as identified reports. Anonymity does not protect you from accountability under Ethiopian law if you submit false reports with intent to harm.
07 Partner agency access
Gorebet shares aggregated, anonymized incident data with partner agencies — government bodies, NGOs, and emergency services — under governance agreements. Individual report data is shared only under specific circumstances disclosed in our Privacy Policy. Partner agencies do not receive your identity through Gorebet.
08 Disclaimer of warranties
Gorebet is provided 'as is', without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate. Incident data is user-submitted and unverified. Use of Gorebet data for any enforcement, legal, or administrative decision is at your own risk.
09 Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Gorebet Inc. shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Gorebet. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service, which is zero for the free app.
10 Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. For users in the European Economic Area, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence also apply. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, unless mandatory local law requires otherwise.
11 Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app and the date on this page will be updated. Continued use of Gorebet after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
